I am finally giving up on the Threat Solutions UCR kydex holster. This thing is incredibly comfortable and stable but this is the second holster where the back clip broke. The clips are integral to the holster so there is no replacing the clip. It's a new holster or nothing. On the first holster the back clip broke when I was taking off the hoster and I bent the clip back too much to pull it over my belt. It broke along the top edge.

After I bought my second UCR I always pulled my belt out before removing the holster so I wouldn't break the clip. This time the rear clip broke while I was wearing it. I didn't do anything to cause it to break this time. This break occured on the bottom of the clip where it bends back in towards the holster and hooks under the belt. I noticed it when the holster started moving.

This is a truly thin, molded to the body kind of holster but I am not shelling out any more dinero for another one of these holsters. Those clips are just too fragile to last the long haul, at least for me. I am going to order a VM-II later today. I have heard a lot of good things about that holster and I think it is time to switch to leather.

Thanks for the heads-up. I was interested in one of those, but I'm not having that. I can't stand stuff that can't be serviced (unless it's readily available and throwaway cheap).

Frankenholster

I just made my holster serviceable again. I ground down a piece of 1/16" thick steel from a wall socket plate and bent it into a clip. I then riveted it to the broken clip. It works great and maybe I can get another year of use out of this holster. It's a monster but I really like this holster so I had to do it. :D I guess the Versa Max II is just going to have to wait.

One picture shows the front of the holster with the rivets and the other shows the back with the clip. The picture of the back isn't very clear but the new steel clip covers most of the back side of the old clip.
