Finally got the wife to shoot with me again.

I met my wife at the range. That was good also because I was in my comfort zone and didn't act too goofy.
You're one of those lucky guys.
I didn't meet my wife at the range but it was my wife that got ME into hunting & shooting. She was the farm girl and I was the city boy. I never held a rifle until my wife's dad taught me to shoot with his 1917 Eddystone. I went deer hunting for the first time with her family a year after we met. I took off and ran with hunting and shooting. The rest is history.
PS: I bought that 1917 from my wife's dad's estate after he passed away. I'm very sentimental about it.

I’ve been fortunate. Been married 30 years and mine will shoot anything we take the range. 5 ft 2 and small but everything from 22s to my 375 and 45-70s she’s good to go. She will wear a recoil reducer shoulder harness on the bigger calibers. Reloads with me and this spring got her out casting bullets.
But.... She won’t hunt. Will shoot paper and bench rest and hand gun with me all day but can’t get to hunt with me. Oh well. She makes good ammo for me when I’m tied up working. Mine is a Tikka lover and we have 5. Good for me because they are my favorite rifles.

Mine hunts. It turns into an issue during deer season now that we have kids who are too young to go it with us.

Best money I ever spent, was having sent my wife to “gun” classes. She is good, but the husband / wife thing rises quickly to the top when I “offer” suggestion. I gave her a revolver before we got married, a deer rifle for an anniversary present...she hunts, fishes....sporting clays. I am blessed.

My wife doesn’t enjoy shooting as much as I do, but she definitely doesn’t mind range day. I still can’t really get her into hunting other than a couple of night time pig hunts. She hates the cold. She hates getting up early and she hates the thought of killing most animals. She’s a pretty solid pistol shooter and she’s an excellent shot with a rifle. She took coaching extremely well and learned very quickly. I think women listen better than we do because there is less pride in their way.

Good post.
I don't think women have less pride.

I think that, in general, they have less experience in the shooting disciplines and this opens up am opportunity to learn.

I have absolutely met ladies with a chip on their shoulder about how they shoot. It's identical to the one some men have.

When humans think they have something figured out, they often don't like someone coming along and telling them that it isn't ideal.

It's a pride thing.
