Finally got this year's buck

He's not gonna win any awards, but he'll do to close out the season here (already picked up two does) in Tidewater, VA:

Found him out by the swamp near an abandoned 1800's burial plot. The hunt club calls it the cemetery stand. He came by to figure out who was banging antlers on the trees and pissing everywhere. Ended up shooting him 10 yards from the stand. I've been really impressed with the performance of my .300 BLK SBR as a dense woods gun. Shooting Barnes 110gr TAC-TX bullets on top of H-110.

6 points, 11-7/8" inches wide, 150 lbs.

Wasn't planning on hunting again this season, but I took my Father-in-law out to show him the hunt club and the area where I got the last buck while he was down here and do some shooting.

As we were driving around, I was looking down the cut throughs to see if I could point a deer out to him. I finally saw one and pulled out the binoculars. Was a decent buck and I was about to hand him the glass when another deer stepped into the cut. Took a quick look at him and it was apparent that he had a HUGE spread for the local white-tails.

Pulled out the gun, scoped him, one shot right in the boiler room at about 150-175 yards. He went about 50 yards before dying in the trees. FIL was the first to spot blood on the ground and helped play a big part in tracking him down. Overall, good surprise buck today.
