Finally I got My Handi Rifle

We got to shoot my Handi Rifle in the 500 S&W mag i shot it& my wife shot it twice & my daughter shot it also it kicks some but its really not all that bad iam waiting on my scope to arrive on Monday Iam looking forward to scoping my 500 Handi Rifle its really fun to shoot all together it was shot 16 times total i reload for it i can't & wont pay no $50+ for 20 shots i like to learn my rifle & reloading is the only way to do so Here is a pic of my Handi-Rifle

they are good little guns, i had one in a 223 for a long time. send it to HR and have they do a trigger job to it and it makes it better. congrats on the shooter.

check leatherwoods toby bridges scope from natchez shooters supply and see if the 500 has the same or similar ballistics/trajectory as the 45/70.it's bdc

I wonder how much velocity you oick up in a rifle over a revolver in that caliber.

Has anyone here chronographed them.

Even if you only pick up a few feet per second, that 500 Handi should be a thumper.

I think it would be the ideal rifle to hunt bear or boar with dogs. At that range I wouldn't scope it.

Does anyone make peep sights for Handi Rifles? That would be another option.

That should be a good hunting rifle for sure. That shorty should take anything with 2 to 8 legs. Nice rifle.

Well, I have a .50 Beo. The round is very similar, and I can say that with that particular round and a 16" bbl., that 100m is about right, 200m is really pushing it. It falls like a rock at that range.

But at very close range, it made mincemeat out of an Interceptor vest we tested in the army --we looked at it for the unit as a roadblock tool to disable cars, to blow locks off (we used slugs at the time) and other work. But the Stryker and the way they were used changed that and a remote fired M2 just works better on cars. But that thing WILL stop one fast if you hit the intake. Shatters Nissans like glass.

I would definitely not want too much magnification, I say that a lot, but definitely not with that baby. A red dot was pretty nice though, and your irons are too.

Nice rifle. It should beat the .50 Beo for sure in velocity with a barrel like that, the Beo rifle is similar to the .500 handgun in power. The lighter bullets are just smoking, the heavier ones are like sledgehammers. Good thing you load! I couldn't shoot like I want if I didn't.
