I have a 22" Handi-Rifle in 500 S&W Magnum and I'm thinking of having it cut down to 18" and maybe as short as 16" so it will be even more "Handi" than it already is. It being a pistol caliber anyway, I'm thinking my velocity and accuracy loss will be very minimal. What do you all think?

On another note, I've never had any more fun with a rifle in my life as I've had with this 500. It's so easy and surprisingly inexpensive to reload for. I shoot cast lead gas check bullets exclusively.

A friend and fellow poster did just that 16.5"

Makes for a funny looking but extremely handy little powerhouse. The downside is you make an already hard kicking rifle weigh quite a bit less in the process
