Looks great man! I wish I could have such a thing in Illinois...

Looks good, but I'm interested to see how long that flashlight survives once you start shooting.
Was thinking the same thing. Personally, I would move the front sight to the end (looks like there's still rail estate:evil: at the muzzle end), and the flashlight back. But, it's your gun.:)

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I don't think the light will be an issue re: muzzle blast. If it is, no biggie, it's just a $32 G2. Nothing is gonna happen to the Malkoff LED deep inside the bezel.

That is the only place I can put this particular mount with the AFG and have it all work. I can get a different mount, but that's another $40 or so...if this will work, I'll stay with it for now. I bet with this FH, the blast won't do anything to the light. If it does I'll post a warning not to do it with pics!!

I had a similar light/AFG combo on one of my rifles. I took the AFG off after playing around with different positions. Turns out that if you're shooting weak side it's pretty uncomfortable to activate the light with your right hand. Other than that the only problem I see with your setup is that the Blackout FH doesn't have any teeth. How exactly are you going to mount the M42k? :neener:

Seriously though, that's a good looking rig. I'm still waiting for my Form 1 to come back so I can get my 11.5" up and running.

I tested a G2 with a CREE LED mounted on the barrel of my Mossberg 590 on Sunday, so I think yours will survive. :D

How exactly are you going to mount the M42k?
Heh, yeah I thought about that, but when I get a suppressor (eventually) I can't be sure it will be an AAC or that AAC will still have the same mounting system...so, I'll just put the Blackout on my 16" barrel, and buy a mount for whatever can I get then.

I can operate the light w/my right hand decent when working offside. I'm debating putting ladder covers in the grip area to make it even easier.

Nice. If it was me I would have moved that AFG thing back. Then put the light at 6:00 were it will be out of your line of sight. That would also let you move your fnt sight out to give you a longer sight radius. With the SBR you'll need all you can get with the BUIS.

If it was me I would have moved that AFG thing back.
AFGs work best as far forward as possible. Who cares where the guy mounts his flashlight it is his rig. The guy posts that he finally completed his sweet looking SBR and all you guys can do is gripe about his flashlight. (which he never asked our opinions about anyways)

Heh, it's all good. I appreciate all the feedback. It's a work in progress anyway. After I get some good trigger time (lots), I'll adjust to make it more efficient as needed. I ordered most of the stuff while deployed then put it together when I got back.

If the Larue mount doesn't pan out, I know the Gear Sector mount will work on the side rail w/ the AFG...I just don't want to spend another $50 if I don't have to.

Those are some sweet SBRs, yongxingfreesty.

I really like ladder covers, they reduce the diameter pretty substantially while still keeping your fingers from getting chewed up.

Have you shot a Blackout FH before? The things are SWEET. I shot my Blackout QD just before dark and there wasn't any flash out of a 16" barrel. Can't say the same thing about the Phantom - definite flash. I've got a Blackout QD ready to go for my SBR and can't wait to take it out. Form 1 went Pending April 27, hopefully in the next month or so I'll get it back.
