FINALLY! MY FAID CARD HAS ARRIVED! now what?

Finally.. after 6 months of waiting(I live in NJ) my card has arrived. I'm going to purchase a rifle tomorrow, probably a .22 10-20(im 18, so it seems to be the more affordable gun to fire). Now I was wondering about restrictions. Am I not allowed to purchase magazines that can old x amount of bullets? what are the laws on storage? when I put it in my car how must it be stored? etc.

First off, congratulations.

Next off, you need to go to school on NJ gunlaw, so that you can stay out of jail and continue to enjoy your arms for many years to come.

Mags <= 15 are OK, >=16 = felony.

You must transport your firearm directly to or from one of the approved places (range, target practice, hunting, gunshop, gunsmith) of use unloaded, cased securely, in your trunk, separated from ammunition.

There are no specific requirements for storing your gun in your home, other than keeping it out of kid's hands. If a kid hurts someone with your unsecured gun, expect to go to jail for it.

Be discrete, and tread softly when armed in NJ.
