Finally,..............My Vector AK arrives.

To celebrate the end of the AW ban I thought I'd treat myself to a new AK, with all the evil features, bayonet lug, folding stock, etc... Did quite a bit of research on cost versus quality and decided I wanted a Vector. Went to my FFL in September and let him know I wanted to place an order. He said he already had 6 of them ordered, and he'd call me when they came in.

Apparently they are very strange to do business with. They don't take checks, and when they charge your credit card (actually my FFL's credit card) it means they are on the way. Well, they charged his card but the rifles never showed. He inquired and they refunded his money. A month or two later the same thing happened and when he inquired they refunded his money again. We had about given up on Vector and I was seriously looking at a Century WASR 10 for $350. It was pretty crude. (I know, I know, it's an AK ) Then he tells me that Vector said they were shipping one rifle out to him that day. A few weeks go by, still no rifle. Then, I get the call. It's finally here. I was stunned. Thought it would never happen.

Anyway, picked it up today. It's a 7.62 X 39 with black furniture and an underfolder. I am very impressed. Nice even parkerizing and a great trigger. (for an AK) The folder locks up tight open or closed. I like, I like.

I did take it apart. I've always been amazed by the simplicity of this design.

I took some pics of the insides, but only 2 came out that weren't completely blurry. (I'll need to learn more about photography one of these days.)

This is my first AK, so I don't really know all that much about em. They are supposedly made from Polish and/or Hungarian parts sets, with a new receiver.

I don't know when I'll get a chance to shoot it. With my work schedule it could be a while.
