Ive been wanting a P30 for quite some time but never enough to justify spending $800 or more for one. I could never justify that kind of money for a production polymer handgun. I remember debating a certain YouTuber who is a diehard HK fanboy about why their hammer fired guns were overpriced and how amazed I was that HK got people to pay $800-$1000 for so long for polymer frame handguns. He argued the same old points of cannon grade steel, more complicated hammer fired system, and the 91,000 round endurance test. But just like I told him, HK was going to have to lower the prices on their handguns to stay relative in the civilian world. Not saying HK’s aren’t worth the money because I do believe they are fine handguns and have admired them for a long time, but for hundreds of dollars cheaper you could get offerings from other manufacturers that would serve you equally well. However with HK’s price drops on their P30’s, P2000’s, and HK45’s now was the time to buy, plus I got a $40 credit from this store which brought the price down to $579.99 out the door. Online I seen them for $500-$550 but I like doing business locally so I went to my go to brick and mortar gun store, plus they carry fishing gear that I needed so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone . Well enough of my HK backstory, here’s my P30 V3 9mm pictured with its older relative (usp 45 compact) that I’ve had and loved for 10+ years. Now all I need is a HK45 V7 Lite LEM and I’ll be done with HK plastic fantastics. Ordered a “We the People” kydex holster with a 25% off coupon code. Can’t wait to shoot and carry this baby. Anybody want to chime in about their experiences or any accessories I need for the P30 I’m all ears, or eyes I should say.

Another thing I found interesting is that the P30 has virtually the same dimensions and weight of my Glock 19X that I absolutely love as well, but with 2 less rounds in the flush fitting standard capacity mags. Here’s the dimensions and weights from their websites.
HK P30 / Glock G19X
Overall height: 5.43” 5.47”
Overall length: 7.12” 7.44”
Overall width: 1.37” 1.30”
Weight w/ empty mag: 26.08 oz. 24.83 oz.

Very cool. I’ve always liked the P30. I’ve been wanting one as a companion to my HK45.

I do have a P30SK that I carry all winter. I really like that gun.

Hmm, maybe my used one (P30L) for 500 wasn't such a deal.
Did come with a few mags LOL (8 of them, 3 still in packaging- all 15 rounders).

I put the large backstrap and side shells on my P30 v3 and this gun now fits my large hands better than any other handgun that I own. And it definitely makes a positive difference in the way this gun shoots for me. And this one is a really great shooter.

I’ve often thought that other gun manufacturers (namely Glock) should license HK’s modular grip design. FWIW, I think it’s a fairly brilliant piece of engineering.

Enjoy your P30! It handles and points really well for me.

As far as accessories go, Stealthgear makes a great OWB holster for it. I know that you ordered a holster already, but you may want to look into that one as well.

Stealth gear Flex is the bomb. I’ve got one for my VP9 and my P30SK.

Own 5 P30 variants. All have V1 LEM triggers. The V3 trigger is among some of the worst out of the box TDA triggers I've handled, and I shoot almost exclusively TDA or DAO pistols. It's not so bad to the point of being unserviceable, but it's pretty bad comparatively speaking.

Agreed, but I’ve gotten used to that trigger system with my stock Cz’s and the hk usp compact I have. The double action trigger pull on all of these leaves a lot to be desired but I can connect with them well under stress so I’ve learned to live with them. However my HK45 will be a Lite LEM when I buy one.

Look like you got a good deal to me. I haven’t even seen a P30L in person in well over a year. If I seen that deal I would have been all over it.

I told the sales guy when I passed on his VP9 that I wanted a P30 L.
He knows how to get into my wallet LOL

He also knows I'm on the hunt for a 6" 629 smith and an 870 20 ga Special Field.

Hope he waits a bit to call ;)

Been around this stuff for a while.
I don't wait for the best deal.

If it's good enough, just do it.

Know of folks still crying over lost opps from decades ago.
The difference between sale and walk away..........was minimal.

Watch as three more P30L w safety show up for less.
Could happen.

Doubt it ;)

Bought some PMC to run through it tomorrow.
Way too hot to hit the range now.
Allergies/asthma........makes it feel like over 100

I started with a P30 V3 and really did not care for the trigger.

As far as the LEM goes, learning it took some practice, but I'm used to it now. This video from HK has a good overview of it.

I have had mine for a while now. No complaints. I like it very much. Here is my initial review and not much has changed. Great gun. I do prefer the P2000 but I have had a great time with my P30V3.

I would suggest experimenting with the grip configuration. You may find that a “less comfortable” configuration may shoot better for you.

My initial review.

never could warm up to LEM, but about 5000 trigger presses (dry fire and/or live fire, in any combo you like) plus installing the light FPBS (firing pin block spring) really smooths out the trigger feel and adds *just* the right amount of lightness to both triggers (DA and SA) to make V3 perfect in my opinion. It's not too heavy (in DA) and not too light (in SA) for it's intended purpose of being a combat trigger.

Coming from a 2.5# 1911 trigger............I'm willing to play with the P30L for a while, give it a chance.
Would have preferred the S version, but this will probably work, with enough practice.

Hey! It now gives me a reason to go shoot.
