I tried to work on the trigger pull for my Colt 1911-22 Gold Cup from Walther. The trigger was in excess of 9 pounds. I replaced the sear and hammer as well as the sear spring and got the trigger down to 3.5 pounds.
Unfortunately I was getting hammer follow so I increased the sear spring tension a bit until I no longer had that problem. Now, the trigger is just under 5 pounds but the gun is working 100%.
I only fired 200 rounds of Aguila 40 grain Super Extra today. First magazine had me disappointed with 3 jams but subsequently all other rounds fired one for one and grouped real well.
I now have seven magazines for the gun and all are working. I installed a green fiber optic front sight which really helps, especially when shooting at the indoor range. I was able to keep all my shots inside the 4 inch circle at 10 yards which is an improvement for me.
