Finish on a S&W 442

I have a blued ( I guess they all are) 442 and dropped it on the concrete. The Aluminum frame got a scrape and I can see the bare aluminum through the dark finish.

I would aprpeciate any suggestions on getting the nice black finish back. I was thinking of some spray paint but think there would be a better solution.

Not sure how bad the scrape is, but I had good luck with Birchwood-Casey's pen-like thing that applies black paint. Used it on a couple big scratches in a 10/22 receiver, also bare aluminum showing through.

I put it on, let it dry, then rubbed it with a rough terry cloth towel to blend it with the rest of the finish.

Dang! I hate it when that happens...

I agree it's worth a try with the Sharpie first to see the results. If it's not to your liking, ArmedBear's suggestion should work.
