Sportsman's Warehouse has a great deal on Fiocchi .357 Mag. I have shot very little Fiocchi, so, anyone who's shot a bunch of it, how's the quality?

Good, I hope, because I just ordered 250 rounds :D .

I don't know about a bunch but I've put a few hundred through my GP-100 and its worked well. I didn't chronograph it but it seemed to be of reasonable power, I thought it burned fairly clean, accuracy was nominal.

Thanks. At $66 per 250 rounds (plus about $11 shipping) for 158 grain SJSPs, it was too good a deal to pass up. Even the cheap .357 is about twenty bucks a box at Wally World these days.

Great Stuff!

Lots and Lots of Fiocchi fired in various handgun calibers from .22 lr and on up, including .357.

Lots and Lots of ammunition fired in shotgun gauges 12, 20, 32, 28, 24 ga and .410.

I have even used the Fiocchi reloading components for shotgun shells.

I/we used to get Fiocchi by the Pallet or two...

Fiocchi is good stuff, tends to be loaded hotter than comparable American ammo.

I'm happy with it in general, but like everyone else in the gun biz these days QA/QC isn't want it should be. Loading some .40S&W mags for a trip to the range later, I found one primer in backwards :( My first issue with Fiocchi, but I've seen more of these with Speer Gold Dots which are supposed to be "premium quality".

Before I started reloading, I probably fired 1500 rounds of Fiocchi 170 grain FMJ in 40 S&W. This is great stuff, accurate, clean, and its loaded on the hot side, which I don't mind. It duplicates self defense ammo.

Thanks for the mention on the ammo. I ordered 500 rounds myself. Figured with the very recent price increases, I might as well get some now as it will probably go up too.

I assume you meant Sportsman's Guide not Sportsman's Warehouse.

Fiochhi .357 Ammo

"Fiocchi is good stuff...loaded hotter than...American ammo." Ditto. Good stuff. Fairly hot, and the 142-grain JHP truncated cone (TC) looks like it'd penetrate...barriers, very well indeed.

They also have some 148 grain JHP, but I've never fired it.

It's the 158 gr semi-jacketed soft points. I figure 500 rounds will do me a fairly long time as I don't shoot 100's of rounds per shooting session; 50 is about normal for me with this caliber, then I shoot something else.

Added: It is loaded a little light at 1235 fps and 535 ft-lbs energy.

Used a good deal with no problems. I find it to be some of the most accurate "practice ammo" I've used.

I've fired quite a bit of Fiocchi, mostly 9mm, with no complaints. As others have said, it tends to be hotter than average. Perfect for my BHP.

I like to use it in 9mm and .357mag and I love the stuff. It is literally a lot of bang for the buck and it burns cleaner than most other ammo that is comparably priced. I get mine from cabelas.

The only fiocchi ammo I've ever used was some .45acp I have that my dad bought about 7 years or so ago.Wasny drty, was accurate, went bang everytime, but I noticed the recoil was MUCH stronger than any other ammo I've ever fired in my 1911, and it was noticeably louder too.It isn't marked as such, but it has to be +p or pretty darn close to it.If the newer ammo is the same as what I have, it's pretty good stuff.Wish I had a chronograph to measure it.I'l bet it's zippin' along pretty good....

Another late comer to the thread to confirm that your order was a good one. As CWL said, Fiocchi tends to be loaded a tad heavier than comparable US ammo. I always think that Fiocchi is to Europe what Federal is to the US. A good reputation and a wide variety of ammo.

I've fired a bit of Fiocchi in .454 ACP; it's good ammo. It has a brilliant white muzzle flash, however - sorta like a flash bulb: spectacular at night, distracting at an indoor range - I wouldn't use it in the firearm I keep in the bedroom.
