Am somewhat new to wheelgun shooting and went for my third revolver lesson today. The range only stocked Fiocchi .38 Spec 158gr LRNs for practice and I proceeded to purchase two boxes to feed my rented S&W model 67.

I fired my first 6 rounds single action and all was well....
I shot the next 6 rounds double action and 3 rounds failed to fire.....

I ejected the cartridges and refed the "duds" (which already had a firing pin indentation) back into the revolver. This time I shot them single action and only THEN did they fire. :cuss:

The next 6 rounds were shot single action and this time there was one dud. I had to recycle this with another single action pull to get it to go off.

The rest of the lesson was conducted single action with about 1 in 6 rounds needing to be "refired". :banghead:

Are you fellas in the know about any QC problems with fiocchi .38 special ammo? It seems that at least one batch has rather HARD :barf: primers which defy revolver strikers.

Well,

I happen to own a S&W M67, and I bought 1000 rounds of .38 Spec 158 grain Fiocchi for practice ammo.

So far I've been through 100 rounds with no problems. I got the Fiocchi b/c of the experience I had with their 9x18 Makarov ammo, which was favorable.

You said firing pin "indentation". You should have a firing pin dent, a healthy one. I'd say the problem is with the rented pistol, not the ammo.

I've shot a lot of Fiocchi in both revolvers & autopistols with nary a problem...

I shoot primarily fiocchi (seldom spell it right) I have never had a problem. I shoot the .357 sjhp's though. I'll bet its the gun on this one.
