There are several pre-configured inventory programs out there for sale. But it seem that there's always something that needs to be added. My wife is very competent with Microsoft Excel, and helped me develop a spreadsheet that can be modified, to suit anyone. Excel is part of Microsoft works, and Microsoft Office. I have a sample file that you can download and use as a guide for your own information. You can save it to your computer, then use it, or you can open the sample file and view it first. There's no spam, ads, virus, no cost, or any other concerns, as this file resides on my own FTP site, as opposed to a web host. Should you have any question, just holler.

Thank you for the sample.

I have been fiddling with one of my own. I think I'll try blending the two and see how it works out.

I have done something similar with Excel. I have columns for accessories, whether or not federal form completed or nics check done, serial number, purchase date, name of store and location, cost, estimated current value (year valued), Date manufactured (with info source), misc column, box and paper work?, whether fiream has been sold or traded and to whom with date info. I don't have photos, but that would be a good addition if you use one sheet per firearm.

I added a pulldown list for firearm type and it provides totals for each type. Mine is zipped because you can't upload xls files.

I like gunsafe too. It's not password protected but a free encryption program like AxCrypt can solve that if other people use the computer.

I've got some good ones. All edit to add when I can find them.:)

Found them... Let me know if the links work ok, It's my first time on Geocities.

This one will help you keep track of all the money you have invested in that M4 with all the Tacticrap on it.:neener:

This one will help you keep track of all the ammo you have. What kind, on hand, loaded in mags, and total.

Too bad I'm not into reloading. I like to mess around with Excell and it would be a perfect tool for a reloader.

comes up with "unrecognizeable format" for m when I try to pen it with Excel rom Oice 2003.Tried the file extension as xlx and xlsx, same result bot ways.Anybody know how to correct this? I could use a good ammo inventory sheet, but I'm excel illitera, and would ave a REALLY hard time making anything very useable on my own....

I have a "Reloading Log" that includes my information about guns etc. I also have a lot of graphs and charts that display useful knowledge such as what percentage each caliber is of total rounds loaded, savings per round, etc. The great thing about excel is that it password protects.

Thanks for sharing Jayb. That looks a lot like the one I use, but I never thought of adding a total. I'm not sure that I really want to know. ;)

BTW, I think that Anschutz value is just a liiiiittle too low. I'd knock it up to at least $150. :D
