Use of firearms playing a pivotal role in my new novel

Fellow HighRoaders --

I wanted to make a quick announcement that my novel, Cold Shadows, is now available through Amazon in print and Kindle with national bookstore distribution later this fall. Like most thriller/suspense novels, firearms feature in a prominent way in the storyline, something which I wanted to keep as realistic as possible. From my own experience and the lessons learned in the THR forum (more of the latter than former), the following firearms are used in the story:

Sig Sauer 9mm
PGM Mini-Hecate .338 Lapua
AR-15 carbines (not model specific)
Kimber .45ACP
And the really big weapon...Tomahawk TASM (okay, okay, not really a firearm, but it is an awesome weapon )

Good for you, friend. I have started a number of books but never finished any so I admire people who stick with it and get it done. Lost my favorite fiction suspense writer this year; Vince Flynn. Is your work similar to his and to Brad Thor's by chance?

BTW, my wife use to work for NavAir in Arlington, VA. She processed the kits of many flight officers and pilots over her years with the Navy.

My book is a cross between Vince Flynn and Tom Clancy, both of whom passed away this year. If you like that subject matter, then you should like my book, too. Thanks and happy reading!

'firearm use plays a pivotal role...' ?

Distinguishing between the gun (an inanimate object) and the criminal (the user of the object) is an important distinction to maintain when it comes to fighting the anti's attempts to demonize firearms.

Spoken like a true blackshoe! Man, I miss those days of good natured community rivalry! Bear in mind, though, that the USS Mississippi (SSN 782) plays an important part in the book, but that's all I'll say about it without spoiling the plot.

Hope you enjoy the book, Chief! As for profit, the publisher makes the most and the royalties to the author are roughly the same for ebook as they are for print. It's amazing how expensive the printing process can be.

Thanks! I like to support the authors as much as possible, which is why I asked. I don't have anything like a Nook or Kindle (yet...I've a feeling one is coming for Christmas) and have quite an affinity for the comforting feel of a paper book in my hands.

But the world is a-changin', and if it happens that I get an e-reader of some kind, I'd prefer to support the authors the best I can.
