Gave a Firearms Safety Course at my home Sunday. Had some really interesting discussion. One lady told me her husband had a miss fire and looked into the end of the barrel and stated "I don't think the gun went off". Further that same lady had a little .22 semi auto handgun and had no idea of how to open it and make it safe. Thank God she took my course and perhaps she will teach her husband a few of the safety rules I taught her. BTW she stated she had shot the weapon before with her husband, apparently he loaded it and handed it to her and she pulled the trigger. Couldn't believe she couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it. Any way they plan on taking my actual range accuracy course here shortly once it cools off. That should be very interesting. I really do enjoy giving those classes to people who have no idea of what firearms are all about, they are much easier to train than the ones who think they know it all.

Good for you! Not sure there's a bigger educational benefit available for gun-owners than taking them from being incompetent to competent regarding basic safety. And teaching anyone helps us all.
