FIREMISSION: Anti gunners are winning in washington state.

Laststand & Roons - We kind of have the state divided here in Colorado, too, except ours is more of a north-south divide with Denver/Boulder generally supporting the anti-2A movements. You'll find that divide is pretty difficult to overcome since the more pro-2A part of the state is just plain outnumbered. I kind of wish we could divide Colorado, in fact there's a movement in some northern rural counties to do just that, but I don't think it'll get anywhere.

Anyway, yes, keep it up with Facebook, blogs, letters, emails, calls, whatever you can think of. Make sure you show up for EVERY press conference, hearing and event the antis have, go to every town hall meeting your local reps have, see if you can get someone with writing skills to get some articles in the papers, etc. Get some of the local gun clubs fired up and organized, heck, see if the Republican establishment in WA will help you. Do whatever you can and DON'T STOP for a minute. You might still lose the first round and the laws might be passed like what happened here, but keep it up even after that - we managed to get two legislators recalled and are trying for a third, and the laws themselves are currently being legally challenged by most of the county sheriffs in CO along with some other groups (oh, yeah, if any of your local law enforcement types are elected and not political appointees, see if you can draft them to your cause!). Stick with it and good luck.

I don't know if "liking" on FB helps, but it can't hurt, so I did it. I also posted on the 594 page, commenting that I think "univeral background check" is nothing more than "universal gun registration", and that I will be voting "no" on it, and also encouraging all my friends to do the same.

Do I expect this to actually convince them that they're wrong? No. But I do think it helps for them to see that real people oppose them, and not some nameless, faceless evil organization like the NRA*.

*please note I don't think the NRA is evil, I'm just trying to look at it from the perspective of someone who might be inclined to vote for 594

I also agree with those who say that the best thing to do is to teach new people how to shoot. I would love to do this but I can't find any ammo or reloading componets :banghead:
