Hey I CCW a Colt M1991A1. I am thinking about the Firestorm/Llama Government in 22 for fun and practice. I don't see me buying a 22 conversion for my Series 80 Colt. What do you folks think?

I'd pass on the Llama (the smalll frames haven't been the best of guns lately), and buy a Browning Buck Mark, or Ruger 22/45 instead.

These are both very close to your 1911 in terms of grip angle and control layout.

I have both and they are each good shooters, though I prefer the Browning, expecially the Micro model with 4" barrel.

Josey...Why not the .22 conversion? They're great for plinking, pigeons, and poor folks! Best practice you can get for your 1911 since it utilizes the grip, safeties, and trigger that you're already used to. Hell, it even fits in your existing holster!

Hey Well, the JAC 22 conversions seem to be POJ. I have heard a lot of bad things from those who have bought them, and demanded their money back. It was suggested by a friend that I just find a 22 in a full size Government frame. Firestorm/Llama has that platform.

I've had a Ceiner kit for years and the only problems were low-powered ammo related. Taught bunches of kids to shoot with it. You can find them for under $200. The Marvel is a little more, but has increased accuracy.

Josey,

The Firestorm/Llama is NOT a "full size government" model.

It is a scaled down model about 2/3 the size of a 1911.

No problem, hard to tell just looking at pictures as it is fairly faithful to the original in design.

If you've ever seen a Colt .380, its about the same size.
