Unfortunately this is going to sit in its respective shipping boxes for the next couple years, until i get back to the states, but here is what I have.

CMMG 16" upper with Troy Ind. rails
Fobus Rail Covers
Promag foregrip
Magpul Mbus rear sight.
Magpul ACS stock
Stainless LPK
Will top off with an EOtech

wont have a lower until i get stateside. because of that whole ffl business.
will mainly be used as my tactical plinker, because who doesnt want one?
but whats the general consensus? success or fail. may go to a used A2 stock for cost and LOP is perfect for me

The parts look good, too bad you can't enjoy them now. But aren't you coming home on leave sometime, maybe you could pick up a lower while home? Or have a good friend get one for you?

Anyway, come home safely!

The parts list looks good...Bet you can't wait to get it all together. Do you know what brand lower you want to purchase? I have a stripped lower at home from Spikes Tactical that is just waiting for a build...That is down the road though.

I just finished accessorizing my Bushmaster. Not a build mind you, just getting it the way I wanted it. We used Eotechs with GG&G flip up lens covers on our patrol rifles so I purchased the same setup for my Bushy...I love it. A Troy Drop In Battlerail, a Streamlight TLR1 rail mounted light, a Spikes Vertical Foregrip, a Magpul MOE Stock, and a couple Magpul 30 round PMAGS rounds out the package.

But aren't you coming home on leave sometime

Okinawa means one of two things .... neither of which spell leave...

1. USMC... in which case he's going a war making in Afgahnastan per request of our latest Nobel lauriette.

or...

2. USN... which means he'll be sailing the deap blue seas with a few hundred (or thousand) of his "best friends" for the next six to twelve months...

have I guessed correctly?

SSN Vet, in my case you sure nailed it as far as leave back to the US though we're going back in time 40 years. After US Army basic training and school I was stationed on Okinawa for 18 months back in the late '60s and never came home on leave. Lots of TDY to Vietnam and since I was single chose to spend my leave time in Tokyo, Taiwan, etc. Rotated to Korea (probably because I requested an in-theater assignment to Thailand) to finish my enlistment so in all I never set foot in the US for 27 months!

yeah, I'm one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. and just got off 21 days leave before coming here. I'm not up for a det to the sandbox this fiscal year (yet), but I got Thailand, Hawaii, and maybe a stint in Australia on deck. but I may have to extend out here to 32 months, as this contract will almost be up and i wont have a full year in to rotate out back into the states.

Has the Army pulled out of Okinawa? Seems to me we had a depot over there back in my day.

You should be fine with that, and if the LOP is too short it doesn't take much to pull the stock/buffer tube off and replace it.

Futenma? I was at Kinser, Foster, and Hansen during my tour there in '92 - '93. Makes me wonder if that R/C car store at the bottom of the "S" hill past the graveyard is open ....

Semper Fi little brother. Enjoy your time there and take tons of pics.
