I'm pretty new to shooting ARs, shot a few of my friends basicly your run of the mill dpms, bushmaster carbines and have decided that I need one. Me being me wants something different. Not looking to skimp here my budget is about 1300 give or take a little. Anyways got my eyes on 2 different rifles, a daniel defense m4v7 or a sig 516. None of the shops around here have either so I'd have to order it, obviously I'd like to handle it first but i dont think I could really go wrong with either. Anyone have experience with either one if so which would you perfer? Thanks

Colt 6720, 6920 or 6940.

Daniel Defense is a good choice too though.

Sig516 is a piston driven gun. Nobody can say with certainty, although they'll try, if piston is or isn't better so read both sides of the arguement and make up your own mind.

Watch a load of videos on youtube of brownells and various people assembling their ARs then realize you have the bug to build your own and piece out the build.

DDM4V7.
It's pretty straightforward when you watch their torture tests and understand what you get for a $1200 DDM4V7.

I did a bunch of research before buying the DD V7-GREAT gun.

The rail seems just right to me...very clean look, much better to grip than a cluttered 4 rail set up while still being able to put any accessories where you want them.

Mine is set up with quick release mounts for the flashlight, Nikon M-223 3x12 scope (American Defense with 2 levers), and the Eotech EXPS-2....VERY versatile!

Go to a gun show where you can handle them. I like the idea of a piston ar. Although I don't have one it seems like a good idea. Oh. Welcome to the black rifle bug!
