vaalpens, Thank you for your personal load data information. I have found them to be a great help with developing 45 ACP loads using RMR's 230gr FMJ. You have saved me a lot of scarce powder and primers to get great results with my Commander.

Thanks for the kind words. I never knew if my charts actually helped anybody with their load development, but at least now I know that somebody found it helpful, and saved you some scarce components.

I have had a pound or two of the above powders for a few years and decided to try them in 45ACP. My "standard" powders are Power Pistol and Unique.
I loaded up ~750fps loads, based on Hornady's 11th edition
Titegroup: 4.5 grains
W231: 5.3 grains
Bullet: Hornady 230gr FMJ-RN
Brass: Mixed, loaded several times
Primers: Large Pistol some Win, some CCI (I have a lot of primed 45 ACP brass with different primers)
COAL: 1.250
Firearm: Kimber Custom II (5 inch barrel)

Silly me - I did not take my chronograph with me, wish I had. So I have no idea what fps I actually got.
They all (50 of each - total 100rounds) cycled perfectly and - big bonus for me, they ejected the spent cases in a nice close group. Made recovering the brass easy. Sometimes PowerPistol sends it across the pistol bay. I was shooting steel so I cannot attest to groups on paper - but ringing steel was easy.

Anyone have chrono'd fps for similar loads? Is the Hornady numbers in the ballpark? I am thinking I like these 2 powders.

Update: I took my chrono with me yesterday and shot the same loads. The above loads were straight out of the Hornady 11th edition manual for the exact bullet I used. The manual listed 750 fps for each charge.
My results:
Titegroup: 4.5 grains avg: 722 fps
W231: 5.3 grains avg:754 fps

The manual was right on the money for the W231 load.
