That's right I blame it all on you guys.:D

Thanks everybody for all the great advise on my home defense issues. I thought I would give an update. I now have a winnie 1300 defender for home defense, went blind doing research to find a good 9mm and due to many members here and over at the CZ forum I purchased a CZ 75B. I drove Rick at the Bullet Hole nutz, okay let me see this one, okay let me see that one...ect I kept going back to the CZ, I love the way it feels in my hand. The CZ is an unbelievable firearm, one ragged hole 2 1/2 inches in diameter just left of center at 15 yrds. Just what I was looking for, Thanks to all the CZers out there for the recommendation.

Now I honestly felt that I was "good on guns" for awhile at least till I dropped into a pawn shop with my brother. We were just looking for car stereo equipment for his ole 90 Lincoln, and damn it I peeked at the guns while I waited for him. There was a BEAUTIFUL Savage .32 pistol, I have seen a few like it before but never in this good condition. I inquired about it and was told it came from an estate auction and that was all he knew. I was totally smitten:banghead: it looked almost perfect.

I left it at that and went home, I couldn't seem to put it out of my mind so I looked it up on the internet. By the # on it traced it to the 1910 production yr. Now I was even more impressed, more by the over all finish and beauty of it and nary a screw. I slept on it and next day thought it over some more:banghead: I HAD TO HAVE IT!!!

Went back today and took my Kel-Tec p.32, not that I didn't like the KT but to be honest theres not much to hold onto when I shoot it and it's not much good for anything further than 7 yrds away. I honestly didn't care if the Savage was locked up and worthless for shooting, I found a few links for parts if necessary. Worked a trade and 50 bucks for it and home I went with a S#!+ eating grin on my face( slide worked & barrel almost spotless ).

Okay I get home and get to looking at her and for the life of me couldn't see a way to take it apart (it has no screws). 20 min online and had the field stripping proceedure. I always loved cleaning my guns in the past, till I got engaged to a girl that made me get rid of all them:banghead:. Anyway I figured that she's 94 yrs old and really needed some TLC(tender loving cleaning) from ole Dr. Gimp. Any of you that know of these little beauties know that you have to lock the slide and twist the hammer part 90 deg clockwise to remove the hammer/fp assembly so you can remove the slide. It was frozen up, old oil turned to varnish, apply some hoppes and wait...............30min......45min..twist and pull and off she comes:D .

Oh man was it dirty, extractor frozen, gunk coating everything:D I'm in heaven:D . I very carefully detail stripped her and patch by patch coaxed all the oooze and varnish away, took close to 50 patches and 4 hrs. Now she is almost as clean as the day she was born, almost, I didn't detail strip the hammer/ fp assembly as it reqiured a small drift which I have but am hesatent to do so right now, I was thinking of soaking it in hoppes over night but honestly don't know if that is a good idea. What do you think? I've never had a problem with hoppes on the finish of any blued gun but will that get it clean?

I wanted to post a picture of her so all of you can see her but I don't know how, I can get the picture with my digital camera but after I have it on my computer what do I do? Does my HTML need to be active? If anyone could help me out here I would appreciate it, I read the F.A.Q. but I'm more of a hands on learner.

If we did that to you in just a few short weeks, man don't ever buy a "US Rifle Cal .30 M-1", popularly known as "The Garand". In less than amonth, there won't we ANY left for ANYONE ELSE to buy.

(Just kidding, but the M-1's are addictive :D )

Congrats on the CZ purchase, and the old .32 Savage Rare Treasure Find.

It is one of the things we do best....driving folks to the poor house. HA! :D :D :D
