tries to pull it out of my holster without my permission(which one idiot did to me twice, and apparently to my other OC friend), then they dont get to see it

Okay, some training in weapon retention will help, as will say, a holster similar to this.

I would never open carry without a retention holster, because there will always be that someone who thinks in the back of their mind "hey wouldn't it be cool to try to take that.....". Now, not everyone tries it, but obviously they have tried to take your gun.

If you are in my home it is a good bet I completely trust you, so I'll break out whatever it is you ask to see. If I am carrying outside the house there is only one reason I will take my gun out of its holster (baring interactions with LE) and it would not be to play show and tell at a party.

And I could not have worded it better, outside of your house, the gun stays holstered unless it is needed for the reason you are carrying it.

i live in WI and conceal carry every day with one in the pipe

Sharpie, committing a crime and trying to justify it is not exactly High Road. Neither is trying to influence another to do the same. At least the OP is looking for help, you are looking for jail time and the loss of your 2nd Amendment rights

Nothing against OC since I do it every day and am a founding member of La Open Carry Awareness League.
That said, the gun stays in the holster unless it's being drawn to defend me from an assault. Keep it holstered. Get some training including retention training. Anyone making a gun grab at my pistol is going to end up with a fist to the throat, a knife blade to the arm and, probably, a face full of Freeze +P CS/OC spray. Louisiana sees a attempted gun grab as Aggravated Assault. It's not funny. It's not a joke. I take my responsibility seriously and will not hesitate to defend my gun so that it may defend me.

"Criminals love gun control; it makes their jobs safer."
lolololol

NEVER, EVER pass a firearm a'round too a bunch of drunks~! Now, I am not try'in
to say that all your friends were highly intoxicated; but in some instances, they
probably were~! I am not familiar with Wisconsin carry laws, but here in the
"Deep South" [Alabama], a handgun license is NULL and VOID; if an individual
enters an establishment where alcoholic beverages are sold, provided said
licensee was armed at the time of entrance to such an establishment. A good
rule of thumb is to remember-

PS: A licensee does not have to be consuming alcohol themselves; just the mere
presence in such an establishment [while armed] is enough to get your license
revoked by the Sheriff. After all, all it takes is one legitimate complaint and your
license is history~!

"ALCOHOL AND GUNPOWDER DOES NOT MIX"~!

Please explain what you states open carry policy actually says, In 22 years of "carry" in NYC, and 17 in FL, I know whay my two experienses were, in NY unlike in FL I could carry my gun in an outside the waistband holster, but also wear a sports jacket or a leather jacket over it, are you not allowed to cover the pistol at all? In FL, you aren't allowed to see the gun at all, so I have had it both ways, you mean there is a third, that says you must see the gun at all times on your person?
