Back in September I tooky 10 yr old grandson to my SIL to shoot for the first time he did well using both my Marlin 60 andy axis 2 I'm 223. He was so excited that he saved his 50 us target.on the way home he wanted to know when we were going again. Well work and lack of ammo conspired against us as well as youth league football. It seemed his he's were ony only day off.
His birthday and Christmas ate both this month.
My wife and I went to a small gun shop and bought him a lakefield 64b as a comnination present. I picked up a set of weaver med tip off rings and mounted an old Bushnell sportview 3-9 x 40 on it.
We have it to him this morning he was ecstatic and again wanted to know when we could shoot it.
The rifle has to reside iny safe because his father is currently prohibited and there is no chance of an accident. Boys sometimes forget safety rules.
Will try to take him out this coming weekend.

Thank you Troy it was a pleasure. Got joy from his happiness. Also showed him my new one an m 11 savage 223 with monarch 3 4-16 x42 mildot. Told h the retail price of each component on the rifle and let him check out the scope. He will likely chew out the bull with it.
His 64b has beautiful figuring in the wood and a glossy finish. I'm going to order a trigger spring kit for it though because the trigger is heavy.
