Hi, I'm looking for a nice handgun. My friend has a Lor-Cin. Here's the picture:

He says it's an awesome shooter and he can hit a target at over 25 feet!

Do you recommend I get one, or is there anything a bit cheaper?

Note: I'm just beginning, and don't need the best of the best.

Carry lube with you for when the bad guy wants to shove that thing where the sun doesn't shine. After it jams that is. You wouldn't really trust that thing to save your life of the life of a loved one would you?

Dude, you have got to be kidding. :scrutiny: This reminds me of an ad I saw for a telescope that lets you see "100 billion miles" into space (hint: you can see A LOT farther than that with just your eyes) from the comfort of your living room (only if your roof comes off or you stick the scope out of a window). :)

If you're really looking for a new gun on the super-cheap, then I would second the recommendation of a Hi-Point pistol. They're ugly and hardly the most refined design, but they seem to work pretty well if you get a good one, and by all accounts the company is reputable and will take good care of you with a lifetime warranty.

I looked at Hi Point and Jennings and they're a little too expensive. I don't need super-duper accuracy. I saw a used RG 22 in the local pawn shop that was around my price range but I don't want a 22 or a revolver. I don't want to have to spin the barrel around and fill up all the holes.

So; what is your price range? I have a Springfield XD 9mm Subcompact with three mags, 4 holsters, and night sights)I could make you a deal on ($500 range).

We're both in Utah so a face-to-face transaction could work well.

Don't skimp on something your betting your life on.

I thought your OP might be a gag... but after reading this I know it was. LOL'ing You have a great sense of humor.

Here's a nice new Magnum that should be well within your price range:

Or you could step up to a semiautomatic pistol:

I'd go with the first option. Caliber is interchangeable with basically any ammo you pick up off the ground, and maintenance is incredibly easy. Lightweight, portable, and legal to carry without a license.

get a broken SKS.
You can extend the bayonet.

... i call April fools BS on this.

( we COULD make the "Army of Losers"
Outfitters thread though ... )

I must point out, however, that the tradeoff is really sore fingers unless he actually springs for a whole slingshot instead of just the band. ;)

That actually made me inadvertantly spit out my Lucky Strike. Thank god for hardwood floors.
