All I can say is that the 642 is an awesome little revolver. Fired 50 flawless rounds. Very nice trigger, feels good in the hand. I was function testing at a local homemade range firing at a couple of plastic bottles. The 642 seems very accurate. Next time I will go to my local club & try a couple targets, but I had limited time today & so had to rush. I would HIGHLY recommend this revolver to anyone looking for a light concealed hammer ccw revolver. I like it much better than my Taurus 650 (which is a fine gun also).

Only one paranoid question this time. I noticed that while most of the primer indents were a little off center, there was the occasional primer indent that was even more off center. Is this just a characteristic of the cylinder rotation, or something else? I never paid enough attention to the Taurus indents to notice if they were the same. Thanks for any feedback.

Something to be concerned with, yes. Something to really stress over regarding your CCW choice? Probably not. One thing that has always given me a warm-fuzzy about revolvers is that if it goes click, pull the trigger again and it'll likely go bang.

Keep an eye on it though.

I kept the cases, so I was able to take another look. There is actually very little difference between the indents. Some my be very slightly more off center than others, but I'm sure most people probably wouldn't even pay attention to this slight difference. My shooting friends make fun of me because I notice slight oddities on things that they deem perfectly normal. It's just that I've had such poor luck with getting defective new toys that I really do tend to look for problems.

The slight difference in primer strike position is normal. All my revolvers do it. Autos do to. As long as it's more or less in the center of the primer, no worries. If it's right on the edge, then yeah, big problem.
