Man, what a sweet shooting little revolver! After being wheelgun-less for the last 15 years or so I finally decided to scratch the itch. Bud's finally got the .38 Special version of the LCR for $400 shipped, a heckuva lot cheaper than any of the LGSs here.

I've had quite a few revolvers over years, including a couple Smith & Wesson N- and K- frames and maybe five Taurus 85s (which for the record all ran great). But I was really surprised at the LCR right out of the box. First off it's really really light. I've shot a scandium framed 642 (I think that's the correct #) but I think the LCR might be a smidge lighter yet. The most amazing thing to me was how amazingly smooth the DA-only trigger was right OOTB. Remarkable! Probably as good as my S&Ws which I purchased used.

Also remarkably, my first five rounds all landed in a 2.5" group right in the middle of the A zone at 10 yards. Not amazing but pretty good for me, not having done any DA shooting to speak of in 10 years save the occasionally DA-first shot of an auto.

It was just a quick trip and I only had 50 rounds of 130gr Winchester FMJ ammo with me but color me impressed! I can see it will be a handful with +P ammo but manageable I think. At first I figured to just get a pocket holster and be done with it, thinking it would just be a drop-in-a-pocket-on-the-way-to-the-store kind of gun. But I'm seriously thinking now that it might enter the summer CCW rotation. Of course, I'm gonna need a bit of speedloader practice again. For now I ordered a few speed strips from Amazon.com.

Heck, I'm even considering picking up an LCR in .22LR! Now, if only they'd make it in 9mm...;)

I HAD one for about 15 minutes. Then my wife saw it. IMMEDIATELY declared it HERS!

Yeah, sweet trigger, points well, carries easily. We (SHE!) loves it.

I agree with the op a 9mm option would be nice or a six shot 327 federal mag version
