First Reload Session!

My terminology error! I did mean the expander die. It didn't feel right to twist an extra 1/4 after plate contact. I guess that's the error. I think I left it at contact or even slightly backed out!

Mt FCD is making contact with finished round ejector just at the edge, so I can't adjust it down to plate contact. Should this matter as long as the crimp adjustment is set properly? Or does the FCD need to set all the way down to get the proper taper?

Rusty,
I hate chasing semi-auto Brass, that's why I'm glad I shoot a revolver. My son however does shoot several semi-auto pistols. Go to your local hardware store or a K-mart or Walmart and buy yourself a cheap 10'X10' tarp. You know, the blue plastic ones that will cost you a few bucks. Spread the tarp on the ground to your right side, shoot all you want and then collect all your Brass right off the tarp. I very rarely lose a case while using a 10'X10' tarp.

I'm glad your rounds turned out so well. The more you reload the better your ammo will turn out.

This is an indoor range, so no tarp! Keeps the brass reasonably contained but mixed with other shooters, but most others aren't reloaders and I feel foolish picking brass. Plus you have to ask around so as not to steal other reloaders brass! Probably not supposed to, but I scrounge some from the bucket since if it's there a reloader didn't shoot it, so no etiquette problems. Have to ask the range if they mind I guess.

You might want to ask the person who runs the range. The indoor range I occationally shoot at sell that brass and counts on it a a source of income, so it is a no no. I ask the others around me if they mind if I take thier brass and if they say no I take everything that hits the floor. Once it hits the bucket or goes ahead of the firing line it is off limits.

Another thing is that he only allows you to shoot ammo that you buy from him. His range his rules! and he has the only indoor range in the area. My Luger wont cycle the stuff he sells so he lets me use reloads in that. Since he sell all of the bullets that get shot down his range I wonder if he actuay expect his spent brass count to match his ammo sale count! It doesn't match when I'm there.

Chris
