First rifle for a kid

My seven year old daughter is showing interest in learning how to handle firearms. I'm planning on getting her a .22.

She is very small for her age.

I've been looking at the Henry mini-bolt for her, but would like to hear suggestions from folks on what they would say was a good choice.

A friend bought the Henry mini bolt for his daughter. I like that little rifle. Seems very well made, the fiber optic sights are easy to see and the stainless finish plus composite stock make for a very durable little shooter.

My 5 year old loves her Savage Cub. I cut down the stock and restained it for her. You probably won't have to do anything for a 7 year old. The Henry would have been my second choice. Both of them are significantly better than the Chipmunk/Crickets. Might want to take a look at the CZ offerings as well.

I've heard good reports about the Henrys.

My brother bought his kid one of the Marlin single shot youth models and is impressed with it. I havent seen it as of yet, but my nephew gets really excited and tells me all about it.

savage, marlin, cricket, cz, and rogue all make exceedingly fine small rifles.
