First split neck

Been reloading for a few months now and finally I got a split neck of 223. It was the first time this particular piece of brass had been reloaded, so the neck split on the second firing.

Is it normal for a case neck to split the first time it gets reloaded? Or is that bound to happen once and awhile?

Should I ditch this lot?

It happens on occasion. No big deal. If it is only one just discard it an keep going. If you have several (I only allow 10% of 100 and toss the bunch) then you may have a bad bunch...

Annealing could save some headaches down the road.
