by my nephew and grand nephew, who just called me to share the news.

They were hunting in Craig, CO yesterday for antelope. They spotted a good buck about 430 measured yards away...manged to get within 130 yards. One shot...one buck.

The exciting part was that I worked with my eight year-old grandnephew to make a box of hunting loads using my pet recipe for .30-06 using 168gr Barnes TSX bullets for his elk hunt this year as a Christmas present for my nephew. They decided to use his Win M70 in .30-06 for the antelope. Needless to say, the antelope went down immediately from a perfect heart and lung shot. Both were over the moon, and my grandnephew is convinced that the loads he made (with a bit of help from me) were the secret to success. He's going to call me tonight to share with me and I've been instructed to act surprised. I can't wait.
