We need to create a file of these law enforcement negligent shootings and everytime we hear the Brady Bunch bleat about the "training" cops have to carry guns, we can start reciting our List of Police Stupidity.

That is an interesting idea, El Tejon. The best example I know of is the DEA Agent video.

" ... when it accidentally discharged, killing him."

Nope. Same old B.S.

Guns do not go off "accidentally." The numbskull who was killed, pulled the trigger.

Another one bites the dust. To be fair he was a southern Sheriffs deputy, I wonder if he could tell his left from his right. All joking aside it is a very clear, and painful reminder that guns are dangerous when not used correctly. Maybe this will be a wake up call for depts to get tough on lax gun control in the force. But I doubt it. At least in the NE when a cop shoots himself it useally is a sucide, not lack of proper gun handeling.

Are you quite through Florida bashing? This is the second post I have read in the past 30 minutes in which you have shown your ignorance of our state.

EDIT: Full thread here.

Wow...

Watched part of the mythbusters the other day were they showed that a bullet shot STRAIGHT up would not kill you. They did mention that it is nearly impossible to actually get a straight up angle though and anything short of perfect would maintain a ballistic trajectory.

Anyway, the point is guns should not be handeled carelessly and should only be discharged (dry or not) while pointed in a safe direction in specific circumstances.

I honestly believe that people like this ruin our gun liberties.

Heard that version of Kath's death many years ago. I always accepted it at face value, but it could be urban legend.
