Hey there,
Has anyone ever fired these shells that are supposed to shoot a huge flame out of your shotgun? If so, how bad was the cleanup of your barrell afterwards?

It isn't a flame, it's just a bunch of sparks, and they make slugs that do it and emit the spark on impact, so if u want to use something like that I suggest that u use the slug

First, make sure that they are legal in your state.

Second, It's freeking sweat.

Must of had old or bad rounds. The one we shot we most impessive. The only problem we had was we didn't record it.

hilarious story

Somewhere on TFL or THR there is a hilarious story, years and years old by now, of a guy that tried some DB rounds in his HD shotty one afternoon. He went home and left at least one round in the tube. Just too lazy or in a hurry to get to work on the night shift. That night, of course, a goblin busted out a window and starts clambering into the house. The wife grabbed the shotty and lets loose! WHOOSH!! Guess the round was a good one cause the curtains caught on fire! The perp drops then beats feet like he was trying to outrun his shadow!

Personally, I have wanted to try the DB rounds but have been wary starting a grass fire or creating a like disaster.

Nothing says home defense like setting fire to your own home...
I could see the appeal in a "hey what this" kind of way, but I really hope the quips about having them for home defense are just really poor jokes. And even though Preacher Man posted that story over on TFL I don't think the fella would have intentionally left one in the shotgun for HD.

I fell for the flamerthrower shells. About half of them were duds and the ones that actually sparked were a real disappointment. IMO, don't waste your money.

I want some of those cracker rounds that go bang way up in the sky. Used to be able to get them for $1 each, now I can't find them anywhere locally, shipping kills any deals i find online.

Rugerfan,
Be careful w/exploding rounds. Some places may think of them as explosives. They were called "bird bombs" and were a lot of fun, but in todays world may not be worth it. ..Just a thought..

A young lady friend discovered the tactical utility of Dragon's Breath rounds last night... She was at home with her two young kids, while her husband (LE type) was on late duty. A couple of gang-bangers decided this was a good night to break in, and a bit after 11 p.m., when the family was in bed, they broke in through the living-room window. She heard the noise they made, and grabbed her husband's Mossberg Model 500, which he kept by the bedside for her use when he wasn't at home. She went to the door leading to the living-room, and saw one of the gang-bangers just inside the window, helping his friend through. She raised the shotgun and fired one round at the guy inside.

What she didn't know was that her husband had been playing around with his shotgun a couple of days earlier, along with some of his buddies. He'd left the shotgun loaded with a Dragon's Breath round up the spout, a Screamer next, and a Bird Bomb third in line. When she touched off the first round, a gout of flame enveloped the entire window area, scorching and blackening both intruders, and doing all sorts of nasty things to her curtains. She screamed in shock, but didn't drop the shotgun - racked the action and let off another round. A ghastly demonic wail was heard in the land as this round went straight out the window and down the driveway.

The two gang-bangers stood not upon the order of their going... apparently they broke several land speed records heading down the driveway, screaming loudly all the way (as in "Bleep! WHAT THE BLEEP-BLEEP-BLEEP WAS THAT???"). She called 911, and her husband and other cops arrived within minutes. The other cops then had the pleasure of listening to her tell her husband (in words of approximately one syllable, for ten minutes, without repeating herself) what she thought of a partner who would load a defensive weapon with rounds like that! Apparently they (the other cops) were doubled over, helpless with laughter, while her husband shrank by the minute!

They didn't catch the BG's, but according to the cops, they're probably still running, and should be across the Arkansas border by now (it's only about 150 miles north of here). I understand that domestic harmony, of a sort, has been restored in the household of my friends, but that the husband will be spending time and money replacing curtains and cleaning up scorch marks on the paintwork...

I think his name and sig says it all.
How I honestly don't know...but I missed that. No offense to you other folks, but the shotgun forum sure seems to bring out some of the crazy guys.

:)

This is an very entertaining story, I like it.I think playing arond with this kind of stuff would be funny, but for "serios use"? Noo. pyrotchnical shells are sold as novelty only, and I think there's a reason for that.
