Has anyone got a lead on a flat mainspring housing, grooved, with lanyard loop, for govt model 1911? Could stand checkered, if grooved does not exist. Parkerized is best, but blued might work. I have found an arched MSH, grooved, with lanyard loop at SARCO, Inc., but they could not find me a flat one. Many thanks for any leads you folks might have.

The reason you don't find them is because the originals were smooth, so repro lovers don't ask for grooved or checkered flat ones. On the other hand, the more modern shooters don't ask for lanyard loops on theirs. You are pretty much in a class by yourself, and could either have a flat looped one checkered, or have a loop added to a checkered or serrated flat one. Probably be the best you'll do.

Smith & Alexander will sell a flat, checkered, with lanyard loop, complete, mainspring housing.

My Invoice from S&A reads 'GMFB MSH W/LL W/23#'. For price, you'd need to ask them. Taxes and freight shipping costs add to your cost.

edit: My bad. Didn't realize that you were asking about OEM Colt parts.
