I used to load 17.6 gr of 2400 and a 125rg JHP (Hornady). My 686 6"bbl (no dashes) was able to produce cloverleafs at 100 yards with this load. Didn't hurt the hand too bad either. Only got two loadings from the cases though as they started to develop the "shiny ring" just above the head.
