Exactly. Ayoob's making the valid point that in the eyes of a box of rocks (jury) a law-abiding citizen is not going to flee from, try to alter, or lie about a justified shooting. It seems really odd to me to disagree with this wisdom.
Same principle with an automobile accident. Someone who was not breaking the law at the time of an accident ie. drunk, speeding, unlawfully operating an auto, is not going to flee the scene. Unless ofcourse they are so self-centered that they cant be bothered with an investigation, in which case they need to be punished anyway.
