Found some notes about an old rifle I looked at many years ago. It had one barrel, but a flintlock on the right side and a percussion lock on the left. Triggers operated which ever lock was cocked. It was a heavier than normal barrel for target shooting. I have only seen two such guns in my years and both were probably 100 yrs old. One was up at Dixon's about 25 yrs ago. The other was at the Baltimore Antique Arms Show.I had forgotten all about them until I was paging through an old notebook last night.

Anybody else ever see such a thing?

Apparently made by someone that always wore suspenders along with that new fangled belt contraption "just in case". :D

I'm guessing this would have come out back when caps were new and could not be found everywhere reliably. I still don't see the point. But it would make for a good collector's piece.

I think someone on the traditional muzzleloading forum had such a gun made from a modern builder.
Personally, I don't see the point. But if it makes you feel good, more power to you.
