This came up in a discussion my brother, and I had a few days ago.
Ive had to shoot a semi handgun for my job qualification for many years now. The gun issued to me is a Glock 22 which has a floating barrel, just like my personal S&W 9mm.
For anyone who has had to qualify with a pistol, you know its realitively easy to finish with a good score if your profecient with your weapon. However, trying to shoot accuratly from a further distance [non qualifying} I find that any revolver, or automatic with an attached barrel {my Desert Eagle was a fixed barrel, my P22, and S&W 500 are also fixed barrels} is more accurate for me than a floating barrel.
What is your experence/opinion with this? I think the accuracy suffers since the barrel "wiggles" as the slide moves rearward during discharge causing the bullet to be off just a bit each shot.

ps: Sorry for the spelling errors, I couldnt find my spell checker.
