I was debating putting this in L&P, but ultimately, since the question concerns training, I put it here. Mods, move at your discrecion.

Anyway, I'm sitting here, filling out the non-resident Florida CCW app, and I'm stuck on proof of training. I haven't ever attended a NRA course, but I have taken Defensive Handgun I at Thunder Ranch. Would this satisfy the Florida requirements?

Ok, cool.

I was thinking to myself, "If Thunder Ranch training doesn't qualify, nothing will!"

Now, to go get my prints done (again; i needed a set for my own state's CCW).

Also, if you're a Sailor of the Navy type a copy of your DD-214 will suffice. That's what I used to get mine.

Timely topic. Just in the last couple of days, my brother-in-law got a demand for proof of training by the Florida State Dept. He'd sent in his LFI training certificate so he didn't know what the problem was. When he called down there, the person handling the application had no idea what LFI was, who Ayoob was, and refused to accept a copy of a TN handgun permit as proof of training.
