Hey guys,

I have a question regarding the Florida CCW application. For the fingerprint card, can I take it in to my squadrons Security Manager. He does all of our fingerprint cards that get submitted to FBI for our clearances, so he knows what he is doing. Then for the Agency name and address, just put our squadron information.

Thanks guys.

Jamie

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on their definition of "law enforcement agency".

790.06 License to carry concealed weapon or firearm.--

(5) The applicant shall submit to the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services:

(c) A full set of fingerprints of the applicant administered by a law enforcement agency.

Just go to the local police/sheriff office and let them do it. Otherwise you might run into a delay.

I would go to your local Police agency that oversees your area of residence.

Trying to take a shortcut like the one you suggested may backfire.

Is there an SP office on post? I would think that SP's count as a law enforcement agency.

If the person who signed the card is not a police officer, Florida will reject the card. We had one guy who got in a tiff with them and they rejected all his cards, even though he was a cop. I have no idea if they recognize military police. I suppose if the officer has power of arrest, etc. The best thing to do is call them up and ask them, they're pretty good about it.

i had the tag and decal office guy do my finger prints on base in FL and they took it.

i would strongly suggest doing the electronic finger prints though it takes about 3 months to get your license back with the hard card fingerprints and about 3 weeks with electronic

+1 call and ask. They're better than pretty good about it, they want to help you, whatta concept.:D

Florida will only accept electronic fingerprints from Florida residents. I know because they rejected mine. Wasted $42. Had to look around for a small PD that still did fingerprints the old way.
