Have any other Florida voters been getting this sort of reply from Bill Nelson concerning his stance on S.659?:

************************************************************
Dear {fallingblock}:

Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 659, the Protection of
Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

As you know, S. 659 seeks to prohibit civil liability actions from
being taken against manufacturers, distributors, dealers and importers
of firearms or ammunition for damages when guns have been improperly used.

Currently, the Senate Committee on the Judiciary is reviewing S. 659.
Similar legislation (H.R. 1036) has been introduced in the House.

Although I am not a member of the Judiciary Committee, I will keep your views in mind should this legislation be considered by the full Senate.

While I support the constitutional right to bear arms, I also
support efforts to reduce gun violence and promote firearms safety. Every
effort must be made to ensure that our children, and society at-large, are
protected from firearms violence.

I appreciate your letter.
Your communication helps me serve you better in the Senate.

Sincerely,
Bill Nelson

That's about as much politico-speak as he can get away with, I reckon.

"Children", "gun & firearms violence" and "firearms safety" in one paragraph?

Methinks Bill is not with us on this issue.... :banghead:

He admitted to owning more than one rifle when he ran, but I didn't vote for him!

Nor for his opponent, the Police Republican who won the Orwell Award and looked like Funky Winkerbean. (I forget his name.)

Voted for McDonald, the Libertarian, myself.

Bill Nelson is NOT one of us. He is also very much in support of the assault weapon ban. The letter is the typical generic version he and other Democrats send back to anyone submitting pro-gun letters. Bob Graham has been sending the same type letter for years.

Bob Graham is worse.......

But Bill Nelson, as emc noted, hasn't got the guts to say he's anti-gun.:fire:

I miss Connie Mack:( .

Do any of you Florida voters have a feeling yet for the candidate to back for Bob Graham's replacement?

Haven't heard from that ya-hoo, but Jeff Miller (our rep) has sent me a positively pro-gun response to every letter I've sent him.

Bill Nelson is a political opportunist, period. He is not sincere in his comments about the Second Amemdment. Like any political animal, he will vote the way that will get him reelected. So we gotta keep the pressure up!
