Ok I've looked throught the ATF and Florida laws. Here is what I understand is legal.

1. I may ship to an individual through UPS Overnight within the State of Florida.

2. I may ship out of state only to an FFL licensee.

I just want to make sure before I do something stupid.

Yup. Transferring out of state, you send it directly to an FFL in the buyer's state. Inside the state does not require an FFL. However, I would not transfer a gun to someone inside the state unless a face-to-face sale.

You have it correct.

Hkmp5sd is giving you some good advice on non FFL instate sales. Caution is the word here.

At the same time I would sell to someone without an FFL provided that they sent me a fax/copy of their DL and signed a bill of sale with a statement that they buyer is not phrohibited from owning or purchasing a handgun. Of course I'd also insist on a phone call to talk in person.

Not willing to send me a copy of your DL and sign the statement?....then no sale or sale only directly through and FFL.

So I f I purchase a long gun on gunbroker.com and find that myself and the seller are both florida residents I can ask if we are both comfortable with skipping the FFL transfer and have the purchased firearm shipped to me directly?
