Im not commenting on this case or Fl law.
But I will say,

I hated responding to domestics.
Stupid, irrational people, unable to control thier emotions, dangerous to me and others.
Dont know when to shut up and/or walk away. Got to keep it up and ongoing, consumed by revenge and unable to let it go until someone gets hurt or goes to jail.

After reading many of the self professed stories here, we would lose a lot of members if that was the case.

Based off the little infomation that was provided all I can say is the sentence was IMO harsh but some kind of penalty was in order.

Rather inaccurate, but educational.

Apparently the incident had nothing to do with a warning shot.

What did this tell us? There are mandatory minimum sentences in Florida for possessing or for firing a gun during the commission of certain felonies.

What did we already know? Warning shots are almost always a bad idea.

PLUS: avoiding a potentially violent confrontation is by far the best strategy.

Whether or not the sentence seems harsh, that's what the law prescribes. That's the case in a lot of things.
