I just won of of these on a online auction. I have heard good things about the full sized Hi-powers but almost nothing about the Detective model. Does anyone own one?

How does it shoot? How does it balance compared to a full sized? I have heard that it doesn't have a firing pin safety, does that make the trigger better? I know the CZ-75 and CZ-40 have the firingg pin safety and I understand that this is why the SA trigger is not all that good on them. Can the mag safety be removed like on the regular Hi Power?

I hope you got a good price because CDNN has them NIB for $275 with one preban.:uhoh:

The FM Detective handles a lot like other HPs. It's a little snappier because of the shorter muzzle but other than that it's not that different.

FMs are usually very reliable. With exception of the slide/barrel the parts between a Detective and a HP are interchangeable.

How does $185.00 grab you?:what: It is supposed to be in great shape, slightly used. The guy called it "very good" but it looks better than that in the photos.

Now all I need is some hi-caps and some Speigal grips.:what:

This seems to be something of a mystery gun. There is very little info on it that I can find. I did read that article on Cruffler. Good read.

I think this will make a perfect carry High Power. I'm thinking Novak nite sights, hi-cap mag, and some Navidrex grips. I don't want to spend big money on it but I would like it the way I want it.

You got a great price. :D Keep it clean and lubed and it'll give you years of service.

From what I've been able to find out on the web the Detective was designed for the Buenos Aires police. But I don't know if it became general issue or not.
