Hey guys, I think this is going to be one of those "talk me out of it" threads.

My daily carry gun is a S&W 642 but I'm looking at getting an autoloader in .40 caliber.

Does anyone here own one? From what I understand, this is the same gun as the Browning Pro-40. I checked both of these guns out yesterday, my local gun store had the FN for $495 new and the Browning for $475 used.

I did some quick research on this particular gun here at THR but didn't find any threads dedicated specifically to the FNP-40.

So can anyone tell me why I *SHOULDN'T* buy the FNP-40? What has your experience been with this handgun? Anything I need to know?

Many thanks in advance!

I have an FNP-9. My buddy has the 40. Both are sweet shooting. Mine is soon reaching the 1000 round mark without any sort of failures or malfunctions. I especially like how smooth the double action trigger is as well as the single action trigger. I've put on a set of night sights and load it with Gold Dot 124 gr. +p ammunition and carry in an IWB holster from Center of Mass. You will not go wrong if you purchase this firearm. A lot of gun for the money. I will be picking up the FNP-45 when it comes out.

thanks for the info. I'm going to catch up on some invoicing at work and look around for the best deal, hopefully soon I can pick one of these up!
