I recently acquired two pistols that are well used. (Peruvian police/drug enforcement). The first is a "Fabrique Nationale Herstal Belgique". I assume it is a 9mm. It has a magazine though it is in rough condition. I would like to get another magazine for it but not sure what "brand" will fit it. The only markings on the pistol are: "Fabrique Nationale Herstal Belgique" with "Browning's Patent Depose" underneath that. The serial number is on the right side. The bore is in good shape but the pistols finish is well worn.
Question: Assuming it is a 9mm what magazines will fit this firearm? Browning? FN?
The other pistol is also a FN that I think is a .25 cal. There is no markings on the rounds headstamp but from what I've seen on the Net the "Libia" is a .25 cal "usually". The markings are: "Fabrique D'Armes De Guerre De Grande Percision" with "Libia" Patent-Depose N2xxxx. Were the "x's are the numbers are too worn to read. There is a serial number on the grip safety. What I noticed about the rounds that came with the firearm is the heavy dimple in the primer. All four of the rounds that were in the magazine are that way. I'm not familiar with .25 cal cartridges so the question is: Do .25 cal rounds normally have such heavy dimples in the primer? Will any .25 cal round work? Grain, etc?
Both firearms appear to function; they just look well used since the plating is off in areas. If any of you have feedback on these arms I'd appreciate it.
Pictures, (hopefully) below.
