What is the word on these FN pistols? good, bad, in between?
They look like a decent gun at a good price. I'd be most interested in a .40

A good friend has the FNP-9 and loves it - quality gun at a good price.

there's some members on another form that i'm complaining that their FN won't feed certain brands of fmj. i think there's too many polymer guns out there that'll feed anything to mess with one that won't.

I have owned many, many current and traditional semi-auto handguns and can say with absolute certainty that my FN P9 is among the best.

It has never jammed and is VERY accurate...better than my 92FS's and as good as my HK P7.

In my view, its the sleeper of 9mm handguns.

I have the FNP-40 and believe that this handgun is one of the most underrated handguns out there. It is well built, very comfortable to hold, points well, and mine has not experienced a single malfunction to date.... I shoot a lot. I have a tac light mounted to the rail and with a full load it is balanced very well. I really can't say enough about this firearm. As you may know FNH also makes many of the military arms, including the M240, M249, and even some of the M-16's and automatic grenade launchers, so even though they are pretty new to the polymer pistol market they are proven in the business of making serious weapons for defense.

It is a great gun at a great price. I really don't know why it hasn't caught on to a greater extent with the law enforcement and private communities.

Be aware. Shoot accurately.

Thanks for the replies.
How is the grip on these, I have not seen any to put paws on yet?
The FNP grip looks like what I like, "lean & long" rather than what I don't like "stout & round" am I right?

They have a superb grip, mine has been flawlessly reliable, and they are pretty trim to boot.

They are an excellent pistol and are definitely a worthy buy.

Great pistols for the money. I had a FNP40 and found it to be very well built and quite accurate. If you decide on the 40, keep in mind that it's a fairly lite pistol so you'll be feeling the 40 recoil snap a bit more. The only complaint I had with mine was that the trigger had a ton of creep.
