Hello All,

As my handle might suggest, I am just starting to enjoy shooting and owning handguns. I have learned much from reading threads on this site and I figured I would pose a question myself. I purchased a XD .45 ACP as my first firearm last month. It is tons of fun to shoot and even someone of my limited experience can take it apart and clean it. Even though I love my XD, I found it to be be bulky and ammunition a tad too expensive. I was thinking about buying a 9mm and decided on an FNP-9. Anyone have thoughts on this before I make the leap? I appreciate any feedback.

Guess there's not many FNP-9 fans around right now. I really like mine. It is very controllable, shoots better than I can, and fits my hand nicely. You'll probably have trouble finding a holster in either Kydex or leather - I did. Finally got a paddle holster from BladeTech. Around here, Texas, you can get 9mm for half or less versus .45ACP. Practice more and have more fun.

I owned one for about 7 months... It shot exceptionally well! I ended up trading it in though for my Beretta.

They are inexpensive weapons, but extremely reliable and shoot like a champ!

Everything I have read has been good. Be aware that the DA/SA trigger is a bit different than your XD trigger.

I use all 9mm guns now because of the ammo costs - 45 does get very expensive. I can get a box of 50 rounds for about $5. I can afford to go every 2 weeks.

Try a Walther P99 :)

Thanks for the input from all of you. I will go ahead and grab a FNP-9 to practice with. Thanks again!
