I am looking at getting either FNX 9 or FNS 9. Does anyone have positive/negative experience with either of these pistols?

I have an fnx9 and an fns40, and I really like them both.
I generally prefer a hammer fired gun with a manual safety, but the fns feels just as secure.

My fns has a fairly short reset for a striker fired pistol making it a fast shooter. It's actually a very soft shooter for a .40 and accurate.

The fnx is a great shooter that can be carried both traditional da/sa as well as cocked and locked. My main gripe is that the ambi decocker makes it very thick at the slide making finding a sheath off the shelf a chore. Some people don't like that the decocker must be broken out by the factory to fully strip the gun as it is a pressed in polymer part. This really doesn't bother me. I can't imagine ever needing to take the gun apart to that level without it needing to go back to the factory.

In short, I really like both platforms. The fnx gets more carry time, but fns is a very fine gun. I don't plan on giving up either any time soon:)

i own a fns 9....but have played and shot a friends fnx 9. very similar guns, imho.

i prefer hammers and so i like his better.....but mine works well enough....so i've seen no reason to add one to my collection.

this is kinda a case of what do you want hammer or striker....there are some other nit picking kind of things to debate over, but for the most part it's hammer or striker.

is that true, is the fns based on the s&w sigma...isn't the sigma based on the glock to the point of a lawsuit over patent infringement years ago? are we just talking striker designs and little bit more, or much more than that? thanks much.
