Ok, first, THANKYOU for all the help on this. I was going nuts with my options, and you all helped to narrow them down for me.

I ended up going with.....and the drum roll please.......:

Spyderco Native III w/ plain edge. It's my first Spyderco, and I was a little worried about the strength of the steel. With the s30v, I'm not the worried now.

I've handled a couple, and I would certainly own one myself.
